New St. Louis County Business Restrictions
St. Louis County imposes new business restrictions. Beginning at 5:00 p.m., July 31, 2020, all private and public gatherings are limited to less than 50 persons. Businesses that are subject to a capacity limit must restrict customers to 25% of that capacity. (The 50-person rule apparently does not apply.) Medical facilities, schools, and transportation systems are exempt from the restrictions.
The business restrictions are contained in guidelines released by the St. Louis County Department of Public Health. In addition to the capacity limits, the guidelines require businesses to: install a physical barrier between customers and employees, mark the floor with tape six feet apart, post signs inside and outside the facility “outlining: Social Distancing Requirements and Face Covering requirements, limitations on crowd size, and procedures to limit crowd size”, and, if possible, arrange for contactless payment, provide pick-up and delivery options, and “provide postings as to the availability of such services.” Drinking establishments must close by 10:00 p.m.
